MPOWER was commissioned by Convergence Partners to undertake a national survey of women's careers and aspirations in NZ. We're pleased to announce that the long report of the study is now available at: Final Report.pdf (1,355 KB)
MPOWER were commissioned by the Institute of Management NZ to undertake a survey of executive management, middle management and 'high potentials' in NZ workplaces. The main findings from New Zealand were compared with those from Australasia in presentations by Prof. Jane Parker on 23 and 31 May at IMNZ's Auckland and Wellington offices. We will be running a second workplace health and safety seminar on 25 July (12.30-2.30pm) at Massey Business School (Room MBS2.15), following the MPOWER seminar by Assoc-Prof Ian Laird and Dr David Tappin in mid-March. Ian and David will be joined by Deirdre Farr (PhD Candidate in Massey's School of Management) and all three will present on an array of leading health and safety at work issues and trends. For the second year, MPOWER co-organised SA Partners' Continuous Improvement Conference at Massey's Albany campus. This event is of high value for practitioners, professionals and academics concerned with the essence of enterprise excellence. The conference included a number of speakers, including MPOWER members Chris Till (CEO, HRINZ); Mark Powell (CEO-in-residence, Massey Business School); and Assoc-Prof Jonathan Elms (Director, Massey's Centre for Advanced Retail Studies). Linda Tirado, US author of Hand to Mouth: The Truth About Being Poor in a Wealthy World and American anti-poverty activist, spoke about poverty in wealthy countries like New Zealand and the US. Flyer:

In September 2016, MPOWER its third annual Researcher Support Awards at SA Partners' Continuous Improvement Conference at Massey's Albany Campus. The awards recognise and financially support emerging researchers at Massey University who are working on projects concerned with areas of people and work management.
There were also seven highly-commended award winners:
The awards were presented by Mark Powell (CEO-in-residence, Massey Business School) and Professor Jane Parker (MPOWER Co-Director). The panel of judges included Professors Jim Arrowsmith and Tim Bentley and Sonia Appleby-Maine (The Warehouse Group).
The Conference was co-organised by MPOWER.
