The Accommodation Services Team is responsible for the overall health, security, safety, welfare and wellbeing of all students living on campus in the Halls of Residence and Student Units. Accommodation Services employs around 30 Residential Assistants (RA's) who live in the halls and units with you. Their role is to help you to create an environment where you can have fun, be safe, succeed academically, and feel happy living in Massey Accommodation. The RA's are supervised and supported by the Halls Management Team, who also live on campus.
Throughout the year Accommodation Services organise a number of different social, cultural and sporting events to create opportunities for residents to interact with each other, have fun, and develop a sense of belonging to their hall and community.
No matter where you choose to live you will have easy access to the following student services:
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner can be purchased and eaten in the Dining Hall or taken away. Catered Halls have meal packages incorporated into the accommodation fees, and residents use their student ID card to collect meals.
Traffic and Security oversee car parking on campus. Car parking is available for Halls students for $110 per semester plus a $20 bond for the access card (refundable on return). Students living off-campus can park in Orchard Road car park at a current cost of $2.00 per exit. Student ID cards can be used to pay for parking at Orchard Rd, first stop by the FM Security Helpdesk to activate this facility on your ID card. Pre-pay parking is available to students in Bourke Rd car park only.
Students can use their ID cards to travel free on the Palmerston North Bus Service with regular buses from Massey into town and between the Turitea and Hokowhitu sites. Click here to see the Palmerston North bus timetable.
