Albany Massey Guide scheme

The Massey Guide scheme is in place at Massey Albany to help new internal undergraduate students make the transition from home, school or work into the university environment.

Albany Massey Guides are a group of volunteer students who provide support, advice and guidance to students in their first semester.  

How does it work?

New internal students are put into small groups on the day of their College or Programme Welcome. Each group will have a Massey Guide leader who is a senior student; ideally from their College. Your Massey Guide will:

  • introduce you to other students who may be studying the same courses as yourself
  • explain to you about how the university runs
  • explain the services on offer to help you in your first year
  • take you on a tour of the Albany Campus

What if I didn’t get a Massey Guide or have lost the details?

Contact the Student Life Co-ordinator who will arrange for you to be put in contact with your uni-guide.

How can I become a MASSEY guide?

If you would like to become a uni-guide please contact the Student Life Co-ordinator. Recruitment takes place each year between September and October for the following February.
